Year 5 Ancient Egyptian Day
April 20
To kick start our new topic “Can you walk like an Egyptian?” we will be having an Ancient Egyptian Day on Monday 20th April 2026.
The day will include a range of exciting Egyptian-themed activities such as the mummification of tomatoes, designing and making an amulet, making a papyrus scroll with hieroglyphics and finding out more about the mysterious pyramids!
The day is designed for children to step back in time and take part in traditional activities and learn more about the way of life in Ancient Egypt. In order to fully immerse themselves into their learning, we will be inviting children to dress in ‘Ancient Egypt’ style clothing for the day.
Ideas for costumes are:
• Large white t-shirt, bed sheet or tunic with a belt/cord and gold accessories
• An archaeologist or explorer
• A mummy!
