Diwali Celebrations

Diwali Party – Friday 8th November 2024
We are very excited to invite you and your children to join us in celebrating Diwali, the Festival of Lights, as a school
community, which will take place on Friday 8th November at 3:30pm – 4:30pm in the school hall.
At Fairfields Primary, we take great pride in celebrating the richness of our diverse cultures, and this event will be a
wonderful opportunity for us to come together and embrace this year’s value of Belonging.
The Diwali celebration promises to be a joyful and educational experience for our students, as they learn about the
traditions, customs, and significance of this important festival. We will then showcase the children’s learning at this
event. It will be a chance for our children to deepen their understanding of Diwali and its cultural relevance within
our school and the wider community.
At Fairfields we pride ourselves on working closely with the community and therefore welcome parents to help us
prepare and set up for this exciting event beforehand. We would love for parents to participate in any of the
following ways:
• By bringing a celebratory dish that reflects the traditions of Diwali. This could be a hot or cold dish, but as
always, please keep in mind that we are a nut-free school and include a list of ingredients to accommodate
any allergies.
• By running a henna stall
• Supporting in an arts and crafts activity
If there are any other ways you wish to help support us with this event or any ideas you wish to share with us then
we would love to hear from you.
If you are happy to support us on the day then we invite you to join us at 2:30pm before we open our doors at 3:30pm.
