Week beginning 3rd June and 10th June 2024 – year 4 multiplication times table check period
June 3, 2024 @ 8:30 am - June 14, 2024 @ 3:30 pm
The national curriculum expectation is all children are able to accurately recall the multiplication facts to 12 x 12 by the end of Year 4.
The purpose of the check was to determine whether your child can fluently recall their times tables up to 12, which is essential for future success in mathematics. It will also help us to identify if your child may need additional support as they move into Year 5.
What was the multiplication tables check?
It was an on-screen check consisting of 25 times table questions. Your child answered 3 practice questions before taking the actual check. They had 6 seconds to answer each question. On average, the check should have taken no longer than 5 minutes to complete.
There is no pass mark for the check and individual school results are not published. Those who have not received full marks will receive additional support in Year 5 to ensure their timetables knowledge is secure.
