World War 2 Day – Year 6

To kick start our new topic this half term, Year 6 will be taking part in an World War 2 dress up day to further enrich their learning about the topic.
This will take place within school on Wednesday 13th of Novemeber. The children will have the chance to explore the World War 2 history of Buckinghamshire, play games that children in World War 2 would have played, create artwork based on the trenches and build a model Anderson shelter. In order for the children to have enough resources, we ask that they bring in thin cardboard, like cereal boxes and kitchen roll tubes, to create their Anderson shelter.
As part of the celebration of their learning, we will be asking that, if possible, they dress as a World War 2 evacuee. Please see below pictures for inspiration. It is not required to purchase a new outfit for this day. Sending your child in with just a name tag would be a great way for them to take part.
