Remembrance Day
Across the school, our children have taken part in events and activities to commemorate Remembrance Day.
Year 6 delivered an amazing assembly this morning for Key Stage 2, sharing reflections and poems to explain the significance of poppies and why we have Remembrance Day.
During our whole-school Remembrance Day service, everyone perfectly observed a 2-minute silence as Ms Walker played the Last Post and three of our Year 6 children delivered beautiful poems that they had written themselves.
Our Student Council went to the war memorial in Fairfields to lay poppy wreaths and commemorated the event with a reading of Flanders Fields.
Each year group also created a poem or piece of artwork to mark this important occasion.
We are so proud of the maturity, compassion and creativity our children have shown as honoured this special day together.
