School Closure Update – Tuesday 12th December.

Dear Parents/Carers,
We feel confident that Fairfields Primary School will be able to open on Tuesday 12th December.
We have been busy clearing the snow from around the school site today. Currently, the main roads seem very clear and the estate roads are manageable with care. The forecast overnight is freezing temperatures therefore we advise all parents and staff to take extra care in the morning and only drive if it is completely necessary. Please also take extra care walking to school.
There are a few things to make everyone aware of to ensure a smooth day.
• All children will gain access to the school via the main reception. The car Park will remain closed as it is unsafe.
• Mind the Gap, Acacia Tree Day Nursery, are open and will use the same entrance as normal.
• If children are walking to school and will be wearing boots, please could they bring their school shoes to change into for inside the classroom – this helps keep the classrooms dry and will be more comfortable for the children.
• We would recommend that children where ever possible do not travel to school on bicycles or scooters on Tuesday, we will not have access to the bike shed.
Our Christmas production will still go ahead as planned, please be reminded that you are able to take your child home following the performance.
I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning.
Kind regards
Matthew Shotton
Head teacher.
