Stoke Bruerne River & Canal Museum School Trip

On Thursday 21st June,  the children from years 1, 2 and 3 travelled to the Stoke Bruerne River & Canal Museum. The children were delighted to be shown around by the volunteers at the museum, who told them all about how the canals were made and used right up to the present day. After some activities in the Learning Centre, we were shown around the canal and given the opportunity to open and close the locks, which the children thoroughly enjoyed! We had a lovely lunch on the green in the sunshine, then enjoyed a boat trip down to the Blisworth tunnel, on the way we saw lots of other canal boats and wildlife. As a group we went on a woodland walk where we saw some amazing sculptures, before returning t o school.
